Session 4

The final afternoon session will entail participants creating a leadership development plan for the targeted staff/staffs previously identified, and apply the techniques and concepts presented in earlier session. At the conclusion of the conference, participants will complete final self-assessment, as well as holistically reevaluate their staff, then compare this to the initial assessment completed prior to the conference.

The final assessment survey can be accessed here.

Session 3

This second day morning session will feature a series of personal stories that illustrate how emerging leaders can be overlooked when viewed through a lens that is narrowed by cultural, gender, generational and other biases. Personal, professional and organization benefits of viewing individuals’ leadership potential through a wider lens will shine through in each story.

Session 2

This afternoon session will focus on defining, challenging and expanding participants’ view of leadership. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect upon the organizational and leadership needs in their own offices or divisions, and will be asked to select at least one staff member in their office for whom they will later develop an emergent leadership plan for. Participants will be encouraged to “think outside the box” when selecting their target staff/staffs.

Session 1

The pre-conference assessment that attendees received with their registration confirmation can be found here.

The opening morning session will orientate attendees to the conference focus by conceptualizing how bias affects decisions in the workplace and beyond. This session will feature the success story of “Karen,” an overworked and discouraged manager who revitalized her division by turning over the reins to a newly motivated and high-functioning staff member she’d previously overlooked for promotion. An interactive discussion of the pre-conference self-assessment will also be held.
