Student Engagement Conference

 

This year’s spring/summer 2013 conference will be June 13 and 14 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt located in downtown San Diego, CA. This groundbreaking conference is geared toward higher education administrators and student affairs professionals, and will focus on student engagement techniques aimed at retention of the growing population of non-traditional college students. Conference outcomes include:

    • identify non-traditional student populations  based on characteristics such as age,
      employment status, non-academic personal responsibilities, educational goals, and
      others that interfere with successful student retention;
    • gain an in-depth understanding of the obstacles non-traditional students face;
    • utilization of various tools necessary to create a campus culture that embraces
      the non-traditional student.

Kezar

 

Adrianna Kezar, Ph.D. is a professor of higher education at the University of Southern California at the Rossier School of Education. Dr. Kazar has written numerous scholarly articles on student engagement as well as published 75 journal articles and 14 books on various aspects of higher education leadership.
