Leadership Conference

The 2012 fall conference will be November 11 and 12 2013 at the beautiful L’Auberge in Del Mar, CA.

This transformational conference is geared toward educational administrators, and will guide them to focus on bias and the effects of upward mobility for staff in their office. Conference outcomes include identifying biases such as cultural, gender, generational, appearance, work habits, personal interactions, and others that interfere with leadership opportunities; recognizing leadership potential among their staff in order to minimize the impact of those biases;  identifying 21st-century emerging leadership qualities among supervised staff;  recognizing specific leadership needs, questions and data relevant to analyzing leadership development; and, creating a leadership development implementation plan for a staff member.

Keynote speakers include:

Lee Bolman, Ph.D. is an author, scholar, consultant and speaker who currently holds the Marion Bloch Missouri Chair in Leadership at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Conference attendees will be asked to complete this leadership frame assessment.

Estela Mara Bensimon, Ed.D. is a professor of higher education and co-director of the Center for Urban Education (CUE) at the USC Rossier School of Education.

Aaron Bruce, Ph.D. is the Chief Diversity Officer at San Diego State University, where he focuses on campus-wide multicultural understanding, social justice, and strategies related to diversity and inclusion.

Frank Harris III, Ed.D. is an associate professor of postsecondary education and co-director of the Minority Male Community College Collaborative (M2C3) at San Diego State University.

Jill Baker, Ed.D. is the Dean of Business, Computer Studies, and Technology at San Diego Mesa College, a professor at the Interwork Institute in San Diego, CA, and a specialist in organizational development.
